It’s the first time that the produce of the Languedoc-Roussillon region has come to Fruit Attraction in Madrid (15-17 October). Ten region-based businesses will be exhibiting under the umbrella label Sud de France in a group stand of 130 m2. It’s a a task force with two goals: promote both the Sud de France label and the region’s F&V supply chain in a push to boost exports of the exhibiting businesses.
The 6th Fruit Attraction show will host more than 800 exhibiting businesses. «It’s a trade show in steady expansion and looks to the international market place. That’s why we decided to come and be a part of it», said Chantal Passat, who heads the Sud de France Développement Food Industry.
Languedoc-Roussillon growers pick more than 88,255 tons of apple and Spain is a key importer. The French businesses at Madrid will be trying to sell some of this crop to the Iberian market.
Sud de France Développement et la Région Languedoc-Roussillon will also use the event to promote the upcoming 7th Medfel show scheduled for 21, 22 and 23 April 2015 at Perpignan in France. The newest addition and centrepiece will be Medfel Tech, an all-business showcase for suppliers of the Mediterranean F&V trade and the first time professionals in the pre-production end will be exhibiting.
The businesses of Languedoc-Roussillon attending Fruit Attraction are:
Domaine des Coteaux, JMC Fruits (Jouffruit – Mesfruits), SAS Estagel, Origine Cevennes, COT International, Cofruid’Oc, Les Herbes du Roussillon, Bio Audema, Château de Nages (Fruits et Compagnie) and Imago.
